So I was looking forward to Sarah Polley’s Stories We Tell, yes. But I did not expect it to be the best thing I’ve seen in years. You might think it’s a movie about a family story. Then you realize it is a movie about an incredibly interesting family story, which if written as fiction would seem like a stretch, but presented in this format is utterly believable. Then the last fifteen minutes enhances and solidifies the true meaning as being way more than any of that.
I’m dumbstruck by how good it was. Just trust me and go see it as soon as you can.
